At last after dusting off the cob webs a game
for our girls After some early end to end play Gosport took the lead only for Denmead to hit back from a Jaz through ball to summer signing Kirsty to cut in and fire a low drive into the net. Then we had some more end to end stuff which eventually Denmead gaining a corner. Hayley drove the ball in to the near post for Georgie to rifle home. Some heavy Gosport pressure resulted in Gosport equalizing just before half time. Only one goal in the second half to report that went to Gosport. Final score: Demead 2 Gosport 3 It was nice to see the girls playing again with some fine shot stopping from Kate, Heather solid at the back.Gemma and Becky running there socks off in the middle, once Becky realised which way she was going. Jaz linked well with new girls Kirsty and Georgie. Hayley turned in one of her vintage performances as well and was named player of the match by Gosport. Mike and John were well pleased with the girls performance as they had not played for along time and have all turned up week after week for training. Hopefully I may remember there surnames for the next game or maybe not as I am getting on a bit. Sorry if I missed anybody out like Julia who runs for the ball and helps with the nets.
