| 5th Jan 08 | The best performance so far this season comes
in CUP Against Worthys. 1st game of the season that we had the full squad available meant Kate was playing her 1st game of the season. The team started slow but used the ball well with the passing between Pagan and the midfield Lauren/Ashley Causing Worthys problems from the start. The defense Of Emily and Sian were working hard and had great control over the Worthy's attack. Laura was used in a number of rolls during the match and produced her high level of energy with Robin producing runs on and off ball that caused problems for worthy's defense. The team went in the 1st half 1-0 up. It was not long before We went 2-0 up in the second half but the Worthys came back to make it 2-1 with 10 minutes to go. The Belles had to withstand great pressure as the Worthy's went for broke. confident about increasing that to three. Worthy came to denmead in great weather conditions. This acted as a wake up call to our defenders Emily and Sian as Demead was quick to react to this. 2007 Belles v Burrage |
A team against who we had won 1 and lost 1 last
season, arrived at DJS for a 10:30am kick off. Only 7 players were available for the match as Emily and Kate were both carrying injuries. the game from the outset was very close with both teams threatening goals but Hannah pulled off memorable saves and Burridge defense working hard to stop the runs on goal of Pagan and Robyn. Burridge did break through in the 1st half to go in at half time 1 - 0 up. As the second half went on the team took more and more control of the game with Lauren and Laura getting on top of the attackers and Sian / Ashley both getting better control of the midfield. More chances were create by the front two but the break through never came. Final Score: Belles 0 ~ 1 Burrage Youth Lady of the Match - Pagan |

| Belles v Gosport Lost 2 ~ 3 |
Gosport Ladies came to the DJS as an unknown quantity. The weather
was beautiful as the game kicked off. The system adopted for the game was the
1-2-1-2 The game very quickly became free flowing with end to end attacks coming from both team and out of one of these attacks Gosport scored the 1st goal. This seemed to motivate the team as Pagan and Robyn (the newly formed partnership up front ) soon were on the attack and got the 1st goal back. The 1st half was flying by with both subs Ashley and Laura being used to rest Sian and Emily who both work hard to stay with the pace of the game. Gosport again went ahead before the break but before the whistle went Robyn got 1 back to go in at half time 2-2. The second half again took on the speed of the 1st half with Hannah making some fine saves to keep the team in the game. Lauren was working very hard in defense and midfield and even managed to threaten on goal half way through the second half. Gosport scored their third goal with about 10 mins. to go which again seemed to encourage the team as the last 10 mins were all Denmead but the numerous number of chances did not produce the all important goal. Final Score: Gosport 3 Denmead 2 Player of the Match: Pagan |
