MATCH REPORTS

2nd February 2008
Denmead Belles v Andover
Won 4 - 0

The Under 12's acquitted themselves well on a frozen pitch, which gradually became very soft at one end. Andover had improved since the previous match earlier in the season and the Belles found it difficult to break the deadlock. With good displays from Naomi, Harriet and Nikki at the back, the girls were able to push forward and Denmead finally got the breakthrough when Nikki's long shot went straight through a crowded penalty area and into the net.

Half time score: 1-0

The second half was equally difficult for the Belles as the Andover defence held firm. In Midfield, Amy, Charley and Shannon fought for everything and started creating some good chances. Then, midway through the half, Georgie struck a lovely left foot shot to make it 2-0 and then in the space of 5 minutes followed it up with 2 more.

Now with some breathing space, The Belles were able to make a few changes, with Amy coming on for a second time in place of Georgie. Unfortunately, this was short lived, as after bravely heading the ball, it was kicked back at her face, giving her a nasty nosebleed. With about 10 minutes to go, Harriet very kindly "volunteered" to go in goal, which meant that Naomi could have a well-earned spell in Midfield, showing some good touches and hard tackling.

Final score: Denmead 4 Andover 0
